Founder and Chief AI Simplifier
Tom Lambotte is the founder and Chief AI Simplifier at AI Simplifier, a consulting and education company he started in January 2025 to teach founders, CEOs and their teams to use AI strategically. He founded GlobalMac IT in 2006 and still owns it. He lives in Costa Rica.
See the programsMy flagship program is The AI Sprint for Founders. Four weeks, four live 90-minute sessions, weekly actions between them, office hours every Thursday, and a cohort you go through it with. It is built on 8 AI Mindsets and 14 named thinking tools.
225 founders and 294 team members from 198 companies across 18 industries have been through it. More than half work in regulated industries: financial services, law, healthcare, insurance.
I started GlobalMac IT in 2006, doing Mac IT support for law firms. It grew, it worked, and it was never the plan.
Here is how I have described it: "Running an IT company, a reactive service-based business, was like the worst thing I could be running. It's just what I kind of happened into."
The thing I had actually been doing since I was a teenager was something else. I did an exchange program in Japan and brought back one of the first digital cameras. I taught myself everything about it, simplified it, and taught my friends. Then I did that again with the next thing, and the next. "I'd take the latest cutting-edge stuff, synthesize it, break it down, and make it attainable and understandable by what I call mere mortals."
About three years ago I stepped down to one day a week at GlobalMac IT. We run EOS there, the systems are good, and the team is strong across the board, which bought me the freedom to go after the thing I was actually built for. I still own the company. A CEO runs it.
When AI arrived I started playing with it and it clicked. The job it handed me was the one I had been doing since I was a teenager: take something complicated and frightening, strip it down to the few things that matter, and hand people something they can use on Monday.
I am a simplifier first. AI just happens to be what I am simplifying right now.
I believe 95% of the 500 to 600 million people using AI every day do not know how to use it effectively. That is my estimate from sitting with founders, not a study, and I say it knowing it includes a lot of people who feel good about their AI skills. It included me once.
Most of the teachers out there lead with overwhelm.
You sign up for an AI newsletter because you want to stay current. Then every time that email hits your inbox you feel further behind. Here are 17 new tools you must use today. Here are 34 new features. This week Gemini is the best. This week it is ChatGPT. This week it is Perplexity.
I call the people doing this over-complexifying entertainers. They put on a hell of a show.
None of it matters if you never learn to drive the car. People argue about whether a Porsche is faster than a Ferrari by a tenth of a second. Take it out on the track. You do not know what you are doing yet.
There is a book called Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. A professionally trained chef makes the case that if you understand those four components, you can cook well in any cuisine with whatever you can get your hands on. Meanwhile there are a hundred thousand cookbooks.
There is always a need for tactics. Very few people ever learn the core.
For us the four are Voice, Time, Obstacles and Opportunities. They are the four weeks of the Sprint, and they are chosen because they do not expire. When are people's voices going to stop mattering? When is time going to stop mattering?
Praveen Suthrum, CEO of NextServices, said it back to me after the Sprint: "Tom, everything you taught is going to be just as relevant a year from today." In this field almost nobody can say that honestly. Most AI training is stale within weeks.
The standard I hold myself to is that what I teach should still be true a year from now. If a technique stops working the week a model updates, it was a trick and it should never have been in the curriculum.
Two rules come out of that:
We curate the curators. Nothing reaches our students until I am confident it is stable, it works, and it does what it is supposed to do. I spend almost no time chasing what shipped this week. The return on understanding the four things more deeply beats the return on learning the fortieth tool.
That is the one place I am deliberately the bottleneck, which sits a little awkwardly next to one of the 8 Mindsets being called YOU Are the Bottleneck. That mindset is about the work you should have handed off a year ago. Deciding what gets taught is not that kind of work, and I am not handing it off.
Keep a human in the middle. The goal is not to automate everything and hand it off so you never touch it again. Use AI, do something, then have a person with a brain review it, give feedback, and keep improving it. Once you have run it ten times with nothing left to fix, then you can let it go.

From financial services and law to a scrap metal recycler and a print shop. More than half in regulated industries.
Freeing up ten hours a week is the easy part to sell and the least interesting part to me.
What I care about is the next question. You have those ten hours back. Where are you reinvesting them? Every founder I work with has things they have wanted to do for years and never reach, because they are busy putting out fires.
My daughter's line for a long time was "you and your stupid AI." She is not wrong about what most people use it for. What I told her, once I stopped being defensive about it, is that I help people think better, as an amplifier rather than a replacement.
I do not care about the money if people are not getting the transformation.

Steve runs operations and finance. I work out the simplest version of a thing. He builds the system that makes it repeatable, which is the only reason any of this reaches more than one room at a time.

Christine runs the cohorts and holds office hours every Thursday, so nobody sits stuck for a week waiting on the next session.

Brady builds the systems we run the company on, which means we are using the thing we teach before we teach it.
Kim is my strategic assistant.
Twenty years in technology, most of it making complicated things usable for people who did not want to think about technology at all.
I wrote four books on technology and security for law firms, one of them published by the American Bar Association. I have presented at ABA TECHSHOW and written for Attorney at Work, the Michigan Bar Journal, ABA Law Practice Today and Law Practice Magazine.
In April 2023 I coached Tony Robbins one-on-one on AI and ran a week-long training for Peter Diamandis's leadership team at Abundance 360. Neither is a client and neither is an endorsement. They were two engagements, two years ago.
I have been a Strategic Coach client for more than ten years.
Founders, CEOs and owners of companies with roughly 10 to 250 people and $1 million to $50 million in revenue, across North America.
The work runs across financial services, coaching and consulting, law firms, professional services, real estate, healthcare, software, and a long tail that includes a scrap metal recycler, a gold explorer and a print shop. More than half are in regulated industries.
"Now I'm using AI more effectively than 95% of the people around me. Not because I'm special, because Tom made it simple."

I live in Costa Rica with my wife, our five adopted children, and one very happy French bulldog. We traded the countryside for the coast.

Three, across twenty years.
AI Simplifier, founded January 2025. Current. Consulting and education, teaching founders, CEOs and their teams to use AI strategically.
GlobalMac IT, founded 2006. Still operating. Mac IT support for law firms. Tom still owns it and a CEO runs it day to day.
BobaGuard, originally launched under the name Security+. A cybersecurity product for solo and small law firms. No longer operating.
Older bios on podcast and publisher sites still introduce Tom as the founder of BobaGuard or Security+. That company is closed. AI Simplifier is the current one.
AI Simplifier is a consulting and education business that teaches founders, CEOs and their teams to use AI as a thinking partner rather than as a tool for producing documents faster. The flagship program is The AI Sprint for Founders. 225 founders and 294 team members from 198 companies across 18 industries have been through it. The company also runs a Teams edition, an ongoing membership, and The Factory Accelerator for companies building AI into their operations. Tom Lambotte founded it in January 2025 with co-founder Steve French.
Four weeks. Four live 90-minute sessions, every one taught live with coaching rather than pre-recorded. Between the sessions there are weekly actions to run in your own business, office hours every Thursday, and a cohort going through it at the same time.
The four weeks are Voice, Time, Obstacles and Opportunities, built on 8 AI Mindsets and 14 named thinking tools. Founders come out of it with a way of working with AI, not a list of prompts.
Quit Typing, Start Talking. Clone Your Voice. Strategic Laziness. YOU Are the Bottleneck. Three Experts. Breakthrough Thinking. 10X Creation Multiplier. Precision Through Context. They are ways of thinking rather than prompts, and they are the part that keeps working after the tools change.
Most AI training teaches tactics and tools, and most of it is out of date within weeks. This teaches four things that do not expire and goes deep on them, the way a chef learns salt, fat, acid and heat instead of memorizing a hundred thousand recipes. Nothing reaches students until it has been tested and is stable. Every session is live.

The main entry point is The AI Sprint for Founders. Companies bringing in a team start with the founder: a team cannot enroll people until the founder has been through the program first, because without the founder's own understanding the rest does not take hold.
